How SkinCompare makes money, in plain terms. We want you to understand the commercial side of the site before you click through to a retailer.
How we earn
SkinCompare is free to use. We fund the service through affiliate links: when you follow a link to a retailer and make a purchase, that retailer may pay us a small commission.
This commission comes out of the retailer's margin. It does not add anything to the price you pay, and you are never charged for using SkinCompare.
How it affects rankings
Our rankings are driven by price. We show the cheapest landed price first, including the shipping and import costs we can account for, regardless of whether a retailer has an affiliate relationship with us.
We do not accept payment to move a retailer up the list or to hide a cheaper option. If two listings are effectively tied, commission plays no part in which we recommend.
Demo and transparency note
This site is a demonstration built on illustrative sample data, so no real commission is earned and the retailer links do not lead to live checkouts.
In line with European consumer and advertising rules, a real version of SkinCompare would clearly label commercial links and keep this disclosure easy to find. If you have questions about how we are funded, reach us through the help centre.
